You're not in a rust belt state but before you start pulling parts, make sure to use plenty of Kroil or whatever lubricant you prefer and soak those parts for a few days prior. Then have a torch ready to heat any uncooperative bolts/nuts. I busted my rear shock upper mount bolts but was able to grind the broken bolts flush, then welded the rear sway bar (you won't reuse the rear sway bar) brackets to the mount area for a free set of mounts.
I rolled with the lift and a TC drop until 3 days ago, had a slight vibe on acceleration. I purchased two 6 degree axle shims from Rusty's and installed, that solved the vibrations. Some other help - Install your lift on a garage lift if you can. Be prepared for it - I purchased an adjustable track bar otherwise the lift kit recommended drilling a hole in the lower track bar mount next to the factory hole. Also be prepared to have your jeep aligned - about $85.00 around my area.
On most of the kits I researched, you can download a .pdf of the install instructions. Do some legwork (search!) on this forum and others to find out all you can before you start...

if not they are easy and cheap to make at home
all you need is some 1" thick steel rectangle or square tubing and drill some holes
you will also need some longer bolts... around 2" or so should work... they just need to be at least 1" longer than stock... grade 5 or better
here is a walk thru

I just did a 3.5" RE lift (October '10) on my '96. It came with a 1" TC drop.
