gc won't start

gc won't start
just got my first jeep...91 gc//4.0//auto/abs// wife took the jeep to yard sale and it would not start..when the key is turned to start all that happens is a buzzing sound passenger side by the fire wall...i'm a fair wrench but this is my first gc and i don't know what that thing-a-mabob i s ...HELP PS won't crank either....
