I decided to take my transfer case with a Rugged Ridge SYE in it apart today to deal with a rattling noise and leaking from a seal in the front shaft. Upon review of the internals I noticed that one of the shift fork pads was completely obliterated, although i did find a piece of it in the case. I also noticed that the oil pickup screen...the actual filter screen was bent and I decided I would replace this part as well.

Anyways where can I find these two parts in a short time span. I'd like to get everything reassembled ASAP if possible. I went to the nearest Jeep dealership and they did not have the parts, so no luck there.

Any suggestions?

I also have a question in regards to the shifter linkage, or to be precise, how the linkage connects or engages the lever/gears inside the case. After the first time reassembling the transfer case a few months back with the new output shaft I was stuck in 2WD and could no longer put it into 4WD. What exactly am I looking for inside the case that will help me resolve this problem? I have looked at the shifting linkage and it looks good. No binding as far as I can tell.

When I tried to shift into 4WD, before ripping the case apart, it would budge slightly but would never lock into 4wd. Felt like something was in the way whether it was the linkage or something within the case.

Any insight would be helpful.
