I installed a new set of headlamps with HID's this weekend, they are bright and aimed well not to blind others too bad.
My issue- They are a bixenon telescopic bulb. Low beam works as it should, flip to high beam and they shut off. Everything seems to be wired fine, the bulbs say bixenon on them and im confused.
My thought is the plug the ffactoy wiring goes to might be a lil corroded inside and not connecting well to the high beam prong. But, if that were true the lows probly wouldnt work?
Any ideas?

what kind of kit is it, or what parts did you put to gether? ive never seen telesopic bulbs befor or how they are wired.. i think some more info and a pic or two whould help a lil..
the only way ive seen high and low beams is in the cutoff shield going up and down. thats in a projector tho. it sounds like you have h4 houseings?

it sounds like you got yourself some h4 HID's my friend. as stated by aj6, pictures would be great. aj6 and I both have projectors with an HID setup. post a couple pictures of the bulbs, wiring, and housings and we can go from there. what year Cherokee do you have? does it have DRL's?

the bulb basically only sits back further in the housing when you are using low beams, then when you hit the highs it moves forward, and some of them also increase from 35 watts for 55 watts in addition to moving forward
chances are that you have something miswired..., or that you are still using the stock wiring harness and under powering the HID system

Sorry I cant get pics til tomorrow but i can give you the link of what i bought MINUS the LED ****... H4 w/ HID kit
Yes they are H4, no I dont have DRL's and it is a 98. Also the high beam worked just fine with the sealed beams. The bulb itself should retract when in high beam i beleive.
Also, the kit came with a relay wiring harness so it only uses the factory wiring as a switch to turn on.

If all is wired correctly, then you most likely have a bum set of bulbs...??? I have the bi-xenon bulbs and they work great, even with the stock harness! I've had them for almost two years and no problems!!
But I must say...I just upgraded to the Autopal housings (from the projector housing) and WOW what a huge difference!
