HELP with my C-Clip install on LSD 8.25
Hey guys, so I have been working on this HEEP all day and I'm going to 4.56 with an Aussie in my front Dana 30 and a LSD in my Chrysler 8.25. we cannot for the life of us figure out how to put the C-clips back in. Please help me. I have searched the best I know how and can't figure it out. Thanks
I also installed rear disc brakes. I'm not sure if that matters. shouldn't i don't think.

A mechanic at the auto hobby shop on my base said to shave the tooth that the pin hits and pull the pin. Is that a bad idea? it doesn't lack much from coming out.

On my Auburn LSD it says to machine the pin on that side. In the morning I will go out to the garage, and get the depth & length of the cut. I didn't need to because I only have 3.55 stock gears.

Did you get a new carrier for the 4.56's ? I dont think the stock carrier will work with any ratio over 3.55, maybe thats just the front im thinking of, i have never taken one of these apart but they seem similar to some that i have done in ford rangers

Guys, he has just setup the gears, and is trying to get the c-clips installed on his axles. You will have to either grind the gears down for clearance or grind the pin down. Go with what ever is easier and removes less materiel.
Knuckle, he has to remove the pin to be able to get to the c-clips to install the axle, that is what he is asking, how does he get the pin out.

I have 4.56 gears and the Chrysler 8.25 rear axle, grinding of one or two gears is required to pass the cross shaft as the teeth on the ring gear are slightly obstructive. This is normal and will not affect the operation of the gears as long as they were set up properly.
