Help identify self alignment parts
Alright, I was following this guide ( http://www.stu-offroad.com/steering/align/align-1.htm ) and he says to identify the Tie Rod and the Drag Link. I see the Drag Link has that 2-bolt adjuster, but the Tie Rod does not. I see it has a jam nut on that one side. So does that mean I have to remove the tie rod, make an adjustment, replace it and repeat?
I want to get this thing close to true, before I take it somewhere, so why not try it myself.

To adjust the alignment losoen the jam nuts at both end of rod #2 and twist the rod to adjust the toe. You loosen the clamps at the top of the drag link #1 and twist the sleeve to center the steering wheel.

Toe is set with the adjusting sleeve on the tie rod.
Camber is not adjustable on an XJ.
Caster is set with your stock lower control arms shims if present or with adjustable upper or lower control arms.
You only adjust the sleeve on the draglink if you have more steering to one side than the other or after a lift to re-center the steering wheel.

Camber can be set with an offset upper ball joint (Specialty Products) as well as caster. Or the cheaper way is on the lower ball joint there is a threaded insert in the knuckle, there are different degrees of offset that can be installed and adjusted. Neither of which I recommend, although I use them to get the settings I want (not factory). If camber is low more than likeley you have a bent axle tube or smoked ball joint. The only reason I use either of these is I'm an alignmet tech and can continually screw with them...
