Been looking at rear-mount tire carriers since my tires make the spare a bit too beefy to mount on the OEM spot in the cargo bay. Also want more space for cargo.
It's sold as two separate parts - the Vanguard-Ready bumper and the Vanguard Tier Carrier. Found the bumper, but every link to the tire carrier is dead. The JCR site still describes the bumper part at "Vanguard Ready", despite the Vanguard Tire Carrier being missing.
Was it discontinued? Did it ever exist at all? Was/is there some kind of issue with it?

That's the bumper itself - that's in stock. I'm talking about the tire carrier shown here:
It's a separate part that apparently holds a tire in the center and 2 jerry cans - but the link to it goes nowhere: http://www.jcroffroad.com/product/XJBR/XJAC.html
They changed the design to be a double swing-out and discontinued the single. I bought the bumper, then a few years later wanted the carrier but the new doubles would not work with the older bumper. Had to have a local Offroad shop build one for me.
Dang. Guess I'll just have to get the double swing - I imagine they changed it to put less stress on the pin and give more clearance for the swing out.
It's great and your standard 5 gallon metal gas can fits great. I think I got mine for around $400. But I do suggest an add-a-leaf for the rear springs. There was a lot of roll in the back before I put the extra leaf in. It's actually a lot more stable with the added weight and leaf.
The first picture is before I added the leaf. Second is a googled picture.

Yeah, JCR discontinued the single swing and only does the double now. I was fortunate to be able to pick up an older style Vanguard bumper on Facebook Marketplace a couple years ago. I absolutely love it. A bit rich for my blood to purchase new though.
Note I modified mine a bit for higher clearance corners and angled the tire. I could see the benefit of dual swings as the single takes a lot of space to open.
