Modifying a oem tire carrier for newer style xj

Found the bumper mount style factory rear tire carrier on Craigslist. Really wanna pick it up but i have a 2000. I know the bumper mount will fit the same but the rear hatch is different between the 2 body styles so im unsure how the strike plate mount would fit. Anyone have any input on it? Thanks.

Guessing you'd have to drill and bolt it on but you do know those will barely hold a 31" tire.

X2, The one on my 87 2Dr snapped off holding a 31x10.50

Buy a real tire carrier

Look at our vendors some make a cheaper basic tire carrier bumper.
