Default 3 inch RC lift questions

If i decide to go with a 3 inch from RC with the leaf packs is there anything else i could add to the jeep to make it handle and ride good. they obviously supply the shocks in the kit are these good enough? also it ask what axle size. how do i know what one my xj has? its a 88 with the 4.0. id like to run 32s or MAYBE 33s but id go with 31s if i had too. lets hear everyones input. i am new to the jeep game. i have only owned muscle cars so this is my first jeep and i am lovin it so far this site also seems to be a good place to hang

i went with the 3" series 2 lift on my 99. i went with 30" tires. I REALLY wish i sould have gone with 31s at lease. but i didnt want to hurt the performace that muc. but really my accerleration did not change much at all. and i have 3.07 gears.
The kit seams to be holding up very well. and i am pleased with it.
BUT....It does not ride well. way stiffer than stock. and i am sure it is just because the springs at 160 pound rated and not 140 like stock(i think it is 140) but anyways...i am already piecing together a long arm conversion.
I wish i would have saved my money and went with a 5.5" long arm lift on 33s from the begining.
But other than the ride. i am very very pleased with the rough country set up.

its a great kit have the 3" rc have the 3.07 gears also (5 speed) have noticed a change when driving on the highway have the keep it in 4th gear unless im going on flat road. Its kinda a bummer having the 3.07 when off roading with the 30" tires but o wells thats what re gearing is for when get some money saved up for it

As for what axle you have, their looking for either a D35 or Chrysler 8.25 right? your gonna have to get down on your knees and look at a chart. atleast that's what I did. I got a 99 with a Chrysler 8.25. I ordered their 3" series 2 as well and I like it. I did go a cheaper route and buy the AAL's but I bought brand new up country stock springs and netted 4" in the rear. i recommend t-case drop, 1", just because. and do you plan on cuttin your fenders for 33's? cause I dont think you'll get 33's in there unless you bumpstop a **** load or start cuttin. if you want 33's, save up for a 5-6" LA. you'll need a bunch more stuff like a SYE etc. but you'll fit your 33's+.

You won't find a ChryCo 8.25 in an 88 XJ. It will either have a D35 or a rarety is a D44.

wasn't too sure on the 8.25, but they don't offer a D44 kit(that I saw) so it has to be a D35

Well then a Turdy Five it muct be. The good news for you is that a D44 or ChyCo 8.25 out of a different year XJ will bolt right into your 88 for a huge improvement in strength.
