I've used this one and it's fine.

$85 + another $10 for shipping? From the pics it looks like that one may be put together a little better than the $20 harness, but not $70 better.

If you're willing to shell out $95 for a wiring harness, you might as well just pay another $25-$30 and step on up to the ARB harness with three heavy duty relays and length enough to mount the relays on the firewall. If you just want something that works, the $20 one seems like it would be fine. If you want something "better," you might as well go all the way. There's a guy selling the ARB M002 harness on ebay right now for $119 with free shipping.

Full disclosure: I have the ARB harness on my XJ, and it is extremely well made. I got it for $80 (IIRC) from a guy who bought it new and never installed it. I sprung for ARB because at the time the only low cost option was the Putco, and a lot of people were having problems with the relays. Now that the $20 harness Cruiser linked is available, I'll probably end up putting one of those on my J-truck unless people start reporting relay problems with them also.

well people should use whatever they want, just showing another option. but i paid $25 less then the ARB, everyone thinks the arb is over priced too. ive seen them ,i think i got arb quality for less cost. a $20 harness ? how cheap do think those relays are, and how long will they last ? but to each his own. i priced all the quality parts & wire to build my own at a cost of $35-40, so whats being used to make a $20 one ? many people think the $40 putco is a piece of junk w/ soon to fail relays.

Not really, because the ARB harness has three relays instead of two. They put each headlight on its own relay, with a third relay to handle the high beams. And it's long enough to put the relays up on the firewall, where they're less likely to be drowned in a water crossing.

The point was that you can get a harness that functions identically to the one you have for $20. At that price, even if it failed, you could buy a whole new one and still have spent less money. Or you could buy the $20 one and pick up two of the Tyco relays your supplier uses and still come out ahead. Yours is better, but still not $75 better.

As for whether the ARB is overpriced, it is overpriced if all you need is to get the current off the headlight switch. It's not if you're trying to make your headlight setup bulletproof. Yours falls vaguely somewhere in the middle. I wouldn't recommend the ARB for most people here and wouldn't have bought it myself if I had had to pay full price for it.

What do you specifically recommend I use.

Thank you for your assistance, Randy

Ignore that. These harnesses are pretty much generic. There's no way they could list all the vehicles it's compatible with in the ebay list. If Cruiser says he's been using that one, it's fine.

The only place I've heard of people having a compatibility issue is when they have a Wagoneer with the four headlights instead of two.
