figured I’d put this here first before I went to customer service over there, since I’m assuming either I bought the wrong product, or I bought the right one and I just didn’t understand the procedure.
I purchased a set of headlights from headlightexperts.com. I expected them to fit just like the stock halogen headlights, but the lights I received were the size of the lower lights, the ones that are on the front bumper. Did I order the wrong ones? Or are these the right ones, and I just need to remove the old halogen bulb and put the new LED bulb into the stock glass housing currently on my XJ? It seems like a waste, since the glass housing they sent seems to be very good quality, and I wish I could use it, it’s just the wrong size. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
ok thanks, I figured I bought the wrong ones. Looks like the other ones will fit my bumper lights so I might as well hold on to them, but I just ordered the right ones. Thanks
which ones, the ones they’re selling? Or the setup I have on my Cherokee? I don’t have the Wagoneer dual headlight setup, it’s an XJ Limited 1988.
I think Ralph meant the one you ordered is the smaller-size headlight that's commonly used in dual-light setups. The Wagoneer used the dual-light setup, for example. I bet the one you ordered is 165 by 100 mm (6.5 by 3.9 in) instead of the 200 by 142 mm (7.9 by 5.6 in) size of what you had on there.
I got my second order of headlights in, new headlights fit almost perfectly, they looked
maybe just a hair smaller than the stock halogens and I wonder if they bounce at all when I’m driving. But they fit and they’re functional so I’m happy. Thanks everyone.
I still have my original order of headlights and I’ll try to fit them into the bumper lights at some point. Would look cool with double sets of LEDs
