Default Has anyone installed Megasquirt?

I was wondering if anyone has done this on their XJ. I've been wiring up a Megasquirt at work this week and got the thing fired up today. It's really time consuming but not too complicated. The problem is MS isn't waterproof and needs to be in the cabin, I've got a 2000 and the PCM is by the air box. Any pictures of the setup would be great.

Thanks for the heads up on this. I was wondering what I might use for a Subaru engine I am putting in a project rig. This looks like the thing.

So you just get to control the amount of fuel that your injectors put out?

No you can control everything from timing to the pulse width on the injectors pretty much it's a stand alone engine management system. I'm in the process of wiring one in a old vw fastback drag car. simple system just alot of wires

What's the point to put that in an xj racing purposes or just a big time control freak.

To be able to compensate for mods like freer flowing intake and exhaust, big bore throttle body, different cam, etc...

It's just a poor man's aftermarket engine controller. You can completely control spark and fuel with it. It's pretty cool cause you can dial the engine in how you like it and compensate for different mods. So there's a good chance I can increase the gas mileage and get rid of the annoying hesitation the thing has when you goose the throttle. It's a pretty cool setup that's cheaper than a Truck Avenger carb and a MSD 6AL. Like it was said above, it's a boatload of wiring. It's not for everyone, but definitely for people that like to mess with stuff.

Check it out at http://www.diyautotune.com/catalog/index.php

So has anyone rigged one to keep it out of the weather? I'm gunna look into connectors that plug in where the stock PCM does so it doesn't take any splicing.

Any updates on this project?
I am doing a 4.6 stroker and am going to start out with thr Renix ECU but I am also in the process of building a Megasquirt that I would like to eventually run the stroker with.
I'm really interested in your base settings and program!
Thanks!
J.B.
