the silverstars sold in america suck. theyre tinted blue and over-rated and blow quick like youve seen. i've tried a bunch of different bulbs (in more than one car) and have had the best luck with osram rallye 70/65 +50s. make sure you have an upgraded wiring harness for em.

I like a bulb that doesn't have any "ricer" coatings on them. I would agree the silverstars are junk.

I would find an OE type bulb, especially one closer to the sun on the color spectrum.

I stock up on 80w Hellas for 6.99 from amazon or such. All those h4 bulbs last 6 months to a year.

I've ran Philips, silver stars, osram ones and Hellas. As long as they don't have a coating then you're good.

I have had mine for a little over a year. They are Hella H4's 80/100's, haven't had one burn out yet.

Yeah, if you want to see a magic trick, don't touch the glass and rinse them with isopropyl alcohol. Place them in the housing while still wet. They will last forever.

Not always true. And of course clean with alcohol. Anyone installing bulbs that doesn't do that shouldnt install a bulb. Oil grease and fingerprints act as an insulator and keep the keep boiling in one spot

Has been 100% accurate for me for the past.....12 years. After installing a bulb with this method, I've never had a bulb go out

Im not denying what you said. Just saying there are bulbs out there that are factory defect. That's the reason why i stock up a few extra just in case.
