I have a Gladiator with built axles. I just put 40s on it and ordered a pair of fabricated 9” rears for it.

I bought an XJ for my Wife a couple of days ago. It needs gears and lockers. Well, it needs at least a rear axle swap as well (Dana 35).

I already have locked, geared, trussed, Dana 44s with Reid racing knuckles, 2.5 Ton steering, etc in the Gladiator. I’ve been searching and searching. I can’t find a swap kit for an XJ anywhere. I’m assuming it doesn’t exist. But does anyone know a place that might sell one? Thank you.

I found this video right after I posted the original question. This guy says the front link mounts are in the exact same spot on the JT and the XJ. He only had to move the coil mounts. It looks like this swap is viable.

I have the JT 44s and a stack of 37s sitting in the garage. This might just work out.

Check out the Facebook group "Jeeps With JK/JL axles." You'll find a good concentration of people with experience on this topic there. I'm pretty sure it has been done, but they're new enough that there aren't a bunch of swaps out there.
