Which gear oils for my Chrysler 8.25 and D30HP lunchboxed...
Im finally getting gears done and I was wondeirng what is recommended now days for a Chrysler 8.25 lunch boxed with an Aussie and a D30 HP lunched boxed with a Spartan.
I just bought some valvoline and I seen it says for limited slip. Is that alright? It says it has friction modifiers in it... Or should I go back.

At least go back and check if what you got is the regular. I have seen some of the standard oils with it in there. The friction modifiers won't hurt a non LSD diff so it's not a huge deal if it's just in there. Most use either 75w-90 or 85w-140 or similar. Go no thinner than 75w-90 and no thicker than 140, everything in between basically is just going to change how loudly your diff clicks

It will work just fine. Only reason to go back would be to see if it was more expensive than oil without the additive is what I was trying to say

Aussie wants you to run thick oil because their lockers are gawd-awful loud and thicker gear oil will make it less loud. If you live in a cold weather enviroment, stick with the oil specified in your owners manual.
