Default Front Bumper mod ?...

I just swapped to a tube bumper set up on my 03 Rubicon. I was gunna put my stock bumper on craigslist. A friend of mine just asked, "Why don't you just put it on the front of your Cherokee?" As I haven't done any mods to my XJ yet (end of may will see the lift and new tires), I haven't looked to see what this may require. Has anyone gone this route? It's a solid bumper, and I can reshape then ends, add the D-ring mounts and tow hooks...but don't know what it will take to mount it...

I'm an aircraft mechanic by trade, sheet metal mech experienced...the only thing I never took the time to learn was welding. Now I'm kicking myself in the *** for always having my subordinates handle that.

Well, this is an XJ Cherokee forum, and since you said '03 Rubicon I don't think you have an XJ ...

Something else to kick yourself for ...

I feel like I remember a thread not too terribly long ago of a guy trying to do the same thing you are. I don't remember the outcome though. Of if there was one

@ Station Wagon, speaking of kicking yourself...

@ Riot, thanks Bud.

@ 96, I did searches on Google, jeep forum, wrangler forum, and didn't see anything. If you happen to come across that thread again, would you mind posting the link here?

My comment was meant to be funny. You all should kick yourself for missing that.

Slightly different year but I don't see why it wouldn't be near the same.

Looks like you missed the fact that he said he has one and now you're just trying to save face saying it was a joke.

I used a yj stinger bumper. Brackets really simple to make and I like the not so extreme stinger and stubby shape it has.

I can't tell if it's the same cladding as on 4wheelparts.com...I'm considering the purchase after I install the lift.
