Default Fog Light Switch "Re-purposed" for Fuel Cutoff?

I would like to set my jeep up with an fuel cutoff switch for security reasons. The reason I prefer fuel to ignition is that I think it's less obvious to a less-adept thief why the car won't start. If my NSS were also acting up, it could really confuse a guy. Hahaha

Anyway, my rig is no longer running fog lights, but the switch is still there. Is it possible to rewire the fog light switch to control my fuel for security reasons? If so, would someone point me in the direction of the information or help me out? Searching didnt work out so well on this topic.

Ya it will work. You're going to have to tap into the wire that goes from the ignition to the fuel pump relay and wire the switch inline there.

Consider how you use your Jeep then tell me you want a fuel cut off that can have a issue and leave you dead in the water at the worst possible time.

No thanks in my book as we all know how electrical connections and relays can screw up.

Like the guy that had his Jeep drug away when it was already partly dissasembled. Wireing is enough of a PIA, let alone adding to it.

Fair point. Is there a better / less risky way to do it then?

Being serious anti-theft devices only keep honest people honest, if someone really wants to steal something its gone.

Make sure it's wired correctly, don't want it to cut off when you turn the high beams on

true. Someone could bring along a flat bed and steal the jeep without even messing around with the ignition lol

I did that with mine except I used the transmission switch for that purpose.

Mine was very easy because my ecu is right next to the switch.
