Default A few newbie questions...

Hey guys, just bought my first Jeep, a 1997 Cherokee Country. I'm looking to build it into a camping/hunting/expedition style vehicle. Gonna put on a 4.5" lift and wheels and tires on first. I am not a big off roader but would like it to be capable to handle what i'm sure most of you would consider "mild terrain". I am going with the 15X8 Pro Comp D window wheels. My question is, can you guys recommend a reasonably priced 32" A/T tire? Also, is there any lift brand to avoid or are they mostly all the same?

Okay, well there are a few things we should know, do you want an aggressive look. What kind of budget are you on? And are you okay with trimming/cutting your fenders

Avoid rough country, and avoid blocks, and add a leafs for the rear, go with a full leaf pack.

As far as tires. I always suggest BFG A/Ts for an all terrain tire..I ran them on my 98 for a while and loved them, they were good in the rocks for an all terrain, sucked in the mud (but they arent designed for mud), and were terrific on the street.

As far as a do it all tire.. id say mickey thompson MTZ. Great street manners, great in rocks (best tire ive ever ran, way better than BFG M/Ts Km1s or km2s), and they really shine in the rocks.

To answer the lift brand question. Stay away from rough country. I would recommend rubicon express

A lot would say to stay away for rough country but if it fit your budget then go for it. Some of my friends have rough country, myself included and we don't have any problems with it

I would go with 3" leaf packs and a 1.5"shackle.
Or if you want to be really fancy. Go with 3" packs. shackle relocation brackets, and a .5-1" shackle

Yeah was planning on flares in the future. Would like to wait a bit on that if I can though but not afraid to cut. As far as budget goes, i'm not sure. As cheap as possible for a decent tire. I guess that the best way to put it.

I saw someone post about the Rustys 4.5" lift with a leaf pack. Thats in my price range. Decent?

Rustys is way better than RC in my opinion..but they often kill you on shipping. I live close enough I just pick up directly from them.

Rustys leaf packs are some of the best ive ran, they are way better than RC, and are as good, if not better than my current RE packs.

Id say the Rustys 4.5 is a good starter lift.

Rusty's has a bad rep for there trac bars breaking. I've heard that they have fixed this problem though. I have never run anything from rusty's. But I have heard many mixed reviews

I have the death wobble.

Is there a full replacement kits for that front end that you recommend? I saw a couple on ebay but the dudes had sketchy feedback.
