Quote: OH! One more major thing I forgot to ask about in the first post!

I have the death wobble.

Is there a full replacement kits for that front end that you recommend? I saw a couple on ebay but the dudes had sketchy feedback.
U would have to check entire front suspension very carefully. Sometimes it's a simple fix.

Check control arm bushings, sway bar bushings, tie rods, track bar etc

Is there a kit to replace all those parts or do they have to be bought separately? Was thinking the best fix is to just have all new.

well when you lift you jeep you should get lower control arms, sway bar links, and maybe a new track bar, then i would go to a parts store for the tie rod ends

For death wobble you need to look at a lot of things:
Tire Wear
Tire Balance
Alignment
Tie rod ends (all of them)
Ball Joints
U-Joints
Trac Bar Bushings

In no particular order.

I see a lot of trac bar bushings or wallowed out axle mount holes causing DW..along with alignment, and poor tire wear.

Check everything.. If you have to replace tie rod ends..just go ahead and upgrade the entire tie rod to a ZJ tie rod at least.

Yeah, the zj tie rod would be a great thing to do

I did the zj tie rod upgrade and my steering felt mod tighter. Plus you have the peace of mind of knowing that its more sturdy and solid. You will have more confidence in your rig.

Also I would like to add that even though you may find that the steering stabilizer is shot, it doesn't necessarily is the sole cause of the DW.

A saying goes around here on the forums
"A properly set up steering system doesn't need a steering stabilizer."

After u go through your entire front suspension then verify that the DW is gone, u can go ahead and replace the steering stabilizer if u want.

Well I have a scheduled shop day where I will have everything I need to work instead of trying to deal with it here. I was gonna just put the lift on that day but at this point I guess I spend the money now and get the lift, wheels/tires, and all the steering components replaced. That way I can have it aligned after and be done with it. Hate to drop all that money at once but I guess it is the best option. Is there certain year of zj that the steering parts are compatible? Anyone have part numbers?

I just used a 96 Grand Cherokee V8 (gotta be a v8)

Get the rod (already has 1 end built on), the adjust sleeve, and another end.
Get moog if you can swing the cost, if not then just buy whatever, most all brands have a warranty anyway.

The tie rod is moog ds1312.
The outer end is moog es3096L

I don't have the number for adjusting sleeve but parts store have it.

Make sure u ask for 93-98. U can pick 96 to make it easy.

Also make sure the adjusting sleeve fit on the long tie rod because its thicker than the xj tie rod

If the sleeve is from a zj it wouldn't matter..

Do I still use an XJ drag link with the ZJ tie bar? With the lift, will i need to replace the sway bar links?
