My first question is how much lift can I get by using the Comanche shackles?
My second question is I read somewhere I could use a front drive shaft out of another XJ as my rear instead of doing a SYE is this true or is there more to this. I plan on having a total lift of about 5 inches when im done. Right now im sitting at about 3.5 inches and want more tire clearance.

You'll still need to get a slip yoke eliminator. You just may be able to use a front driveshaft as opposed to an uber expensive custom built CV driveshaft to go along with the SYE.

Thanks for the info on the shackles hesh and i dont care for the idea of a tcase drop so im hoping i can make the front drive shaft idea work and guess ill need to get the SYE any suggestions on which one to get. I wanna go affordable but not so cheap that it screws me in the end. Currently I have no vibes at all and wanna try and keep it that way. Do yall think I could get away with the 5in of lift with out any mods to the tcase?

I bought my SYE for about that much from Iron Rock Offroad and it's sitting in my house waiting to be installed. Heard many good things about it.

I have a IRO Hack n Tap SYE with the refurb front shaft for $200. It works perfect, I am at 4.5in of lift, had vibes before the install. All good now.

We do this in the CJ/YJ/TJ world, but, what about a 1" motor mount lift? A bunch of the guys are installing this, and doing away with the TC drop. I'm just not sure how this would apply to an XJ, and what all it would change or would have to be changed to work right.
