^^^ Yes. We have been doing this in the short wheelbase Jeeps for a while. I just didn't know with the XJ having a longer wheelbase what a 1" motor mount lift would do.

you can use the front shaft with approx 4-5 inches of lift, although you will have to do the sye, the front shaft has a slip shaft already so you would have the change to a fixed yoke set up on your t case output,dropping the transfer case is fine but again you are losing some ground clearance, i prefer to have as musch tucked up out of the way as possible
