Default Extended front bumpstops? Not Pucks!

Ok so I've been trying to figure out how to get my bumpstops to the length that I need. I'm got to extend about 4 1/2" so that I stop tearing out my wheel well liner.

I found some from Rusty's that on the phone they said that they are 2.5" longer then stock but does anyone know of any others out there that are longer? I really don't want to use hockey pucks. Thanks guys.

What size lift and tires you running? I have 4.5in and bought the ones from 4wd,com and flexed it,then cut to the height I needed. They were like $27.

Why not use hockey pucks?

Just curious for the cost and easy of installation you cannot go wrong.

Check this page. I got mine from 4wd.com but I can't send the link for them. It only sends the home page. I did the long ones in mine at 4.5 inches. You're probably going to need 1 or 2 pucks added as well to save the fenders though. http://rockymountainsusp.com/bumpstops.htm

yeah I saw those, the problem is that most of the extended bump stops don't say how long they are.

Here is the jeep flexed so there is about a 1/2 to an Inch from rubbing.

It's been a while since I bought mine and what's funny is, everywhere I shopped around for them doesn't have a listing for them anymore. I had to start deleting favorites in my browser.

Anyway, IIRC the whole bump stop itself is about 5 1/2 inches long included the part that sits in the tower. You get about 4-4.5 inches of actual stop there. I have 4 1/2 inches of lift as well running on 32's and I still need pucks to keep them from stuffing inside the wells. Luckily I run a 15X7 instead of the 15X8 wheel with 4 B.S. and the tires never hit at all. I don't even have to trim my fenders. I did trim the bumper ends oh so slightly.

As far as how to figure out your flex, this is a pretty good thread.....http://www.cherokeetalk.com/forum/f8/bump-stops-10442/

These should get it done for you. I run them with 31's on 3" of lift and they keep me out of the fenderwell.

I have yet to do this as for now my oil pan is doing a real good job at it. But from what I have herd if you go down from the tower your coil will hang up on it. Have yet to put it to work but my plan is a removable steel spacer for the coil bucket with a puck on top. Like I said have yet to do it but sounds like the best bet. My oil pan is looking a little funny.

Upper adjustables will help though. I don't hit the springs anymore.

Those look good. I'm going to have to order them and see what that will do for me.

He had better luck finding the link than I did but those are the ones I posted in the picture above. I believe they are the longest available that you can buy but you'll still need pucks I think.

Yeah I can deal with one or to puck or maybe I'll do this, it says they are for wronglers but I figure the perches are the same http://www.4wd.com/Jeep-Lift-Kits-Je...NGLER+(97-06TJ)

You could basically do the same concept with the hockey pucks. You'll still need the extended stops with these anyway. I haven't seen anyone run these like this in the XJ so it would be cool to see.
