I read somewhere that I could use any year model exhaust manifold on my 87 4.0, that I just needed to get the right gasket. Is this true?
If so, is this a good one to get? http://pages.ebay.com/motors/link/?n...90886193&alt=w
If the link still won't work, search item #351190886193 on eBay.

No.
If you use a 91 to 95 exhaust manifold, it will have no provision for the EGR or O2 sensor and the headpipe will not match up.
This can be overcome though. But for sure it will bolt to the head with no issues.

Have the EGR bung welded into the late model manifold. Use the later downpipe which has an 02 sensor bung and you have plenty of wire to reach that location.

So, buy the one I posted, get a bung welded into it for the EGR tube. Then go to Pick N' Pull and get a down pipe off of a 91-95 and use that for the O2 sensor bung.
Is that correct? Or do you suggest a better header?

About the "you get what you pay for." I searched and found that and some others that look exactly like it, but the others are like $40 more. So I'd rather pay $75 for it, than $115, yet they're the exact same quality.
AFE, Banks, Gibson, JBA........
You really do get what you pay for.
