The difference is, what you are looking at is an 'exhaust manifold'. What Jeep Driver is mentioning is a 'header'. It's a performance upgrade.

"Exhaust manifolds are usually bulky, and not designed for optimum flow. Headers are normally tube steel with a separate tube from each exhaust port to a common collector, this arrangement helps with flow, and scavenging, thus helping the engine to produce more power."

I know the difference. That's why I put a slash in the title. The one I linked to is supposed to be an OEM replacement.

Edit: also the one I linked to is stainless steel.

Anyone else found any good choices that are cheaper?

I figured you knew, but posted anyway for others that might read thread.
Due to budget restrictions, I installed one of those e-bay stainless manifolds with the accordion expansion sections. That was four years ago and all is well so far.

This is really all I wanted to know. If it works long enough for me to get a better job so I can afford AFE or Banks. Thanks for helping me out.

I got a stainless steel "upgrade" manifold off amazon, fit good, basically a header. It was under $200 but I don't remember exactly. No problems yet, but I've also done engine and transmission mounts which help. Exhaust manifold/header question-image-3919718206.jpg

Alright, so before I order this I wanna confirm. Order the linked manifold, take it to an exhaust shop have an EGR tube bung welded in. Go to a pick n' pull and grab a down pipe off of a 91-95 and use that for the O2 sensor bung. And while I'm at it, replace the engine and transmission mounts. (What are good mounts to get?)

Does all of this sound right?

as far as engine and trans mounts. I went with brown dog rubber mounts for engine and oem rubber trans mount. If you can take vibrations, poly engine and trans mounts will last longer, but don't mix poly with rubber.

I mean, it's a Jeep, so yeah, vibrations are fine. Aren't poly mounts cheaper too?

Is this correct cruiser54? And just order whatever mounts I'd like?
