Nah. Freeflowing muffler and eliminate the "crush" in the headpipe.

Yep some guys are. IMO it's tight enough back there (twss) unless you run a turndown before the rear axle, which may be illegal/unsafe. There's not much point unless you fix upstream issues like cruiser54 alluded. Mandrel-bent 2.5" pipe, high flow cat, high flow muffler are all the 4.0 really needs. Most people just do cat-back which takes care of only part of the problem.

2 things come to mind.

One, as you mention, is routing.
Two, is the sound. I've never heard a straight six with duals that I liked listening to.

Its got an aftermarket header on it, had it when i bought it, the cat has been removed and replaced by a straight piece of pipe, only the stock muffler is on it, sounds pretty deep im guessing because of the header, i was just thinking a 2 outlet muffler folliwed by 2 90 degree tips behind the back wheels.

You might want to put that cat back in if you want to be compliant with federal law. Many people think that a lack of local emissions tests means that it's not illegal. The rumble will be more from the straight pipe then. Unless you really are doing it for the looks get the high-flow cat and a real muffler with 2.5" pipe. The stock is crap.

That's awfully broad. A 6-71 Detroit with duals - or anything really - is a thing of beauty.

Been stopped plenty of time for being loud with just a header, they just say i need to get it fixed, never even gotten a warning. But i appreciate your concern
