Electric fan wiring
So my electric fan is gone and I do not want to spend too much on an OEM(not sure if they still make them) but the one I had which is an aftermarket only lasted 1 year or so.
I managed to get an OEM nissan rogue fan which pulls a lot of air but Im not really sure how to wire it as it has 4 wires and the efan I have only uses 2 wires. I am assuming it has more than one speed but not sure how to find that out and make it run full speed when it kicks in.

Just make some jumpers and:
Your ear should tell you which one is the high speed.
I don't think I've ever heard of an automotive fan with 3 speeds before, but stranger things have happened. Or one of them might be a sensor wire, in which case you might smoke the sensor. Shouldn't hurt the motor, though.
- Find the ground wire on the fan. Should be black or brown.
- Connect your vehicle ground to the fan ground.
- Using your jumper, connect vehicle 12v to one of the other wires. The fan should spin. Note the results.
- Repeat for the other two wires.
Your ear should tell you which one is the high speed.

Are they thinner than the ground wire? Are they the same color?
Might just be the same circuit. I have seen that a few times in the automotive world where they run two smaller wires instead of one big one. Dunno why.

So I figured it out there are 2 positive wires 1 ground and 1 sensor wire, when supplying 12v to each positive wire the fan spins faster. So I am thinking about getting another efan and get rid of the clutch then make the 2 speed fan the constant and the aux fan run through a thermoswitch and when that one kicks in the 2 speed will kick in aswell.
