Electric Fan Issue
Looking for a little help...
The electric fan on my '98 XJ doesn't seem to be kicking on.
Can anyone help me troubleshoot??
I checked the obvious like connections, wires, fuses, and no dice!
Thanks in advance!

Well, if your willing to play around a bit...
Grab some extra wire and wire it directly to the battery. This will tell you if the fan is dead.
If not, then I just wired mine directly and hooked up a switch. I know, not the best fix, but it was a trail fix that I haven't gotten around to fixing properly yet.

There are 2 things that will turn your electric fan on:
1.) Anytime you turn your A/C or Defroster on. It comes on immediately. This is a good way to test it.
2.) There is a temperature sensor on the T-stat housing which senses when the water gats to a certain temp. and then it turns the aux. fan on.
So if you turn the defrost on and no fan. The fan itself or wiring is bad. If the defroster turns it on then, your temp. sensor could be or related wiring could be bad.
