Default Electric fan and temp switch

I have an 88 Cherokee. I'm upgrading the cooling system. My question is what temp switch should i get? The rad. I got is a 3row aluminum with the bung for one fan. For the other fan i want to get the fan wire kit. But what temp should I get for the fan to come on and off to?

The temp sender does not control the fan, it controls the relay that controls the fan. And, you can have multiple relays controlled by one sender/switch.

195-200 degrees.

If you want to run two fans that come on at different times........look to Spal adjustable fan controller.......cost you about $150.

Thank you for the info. I got the T-stat housing for a 91. It has a bung for the temp switch. I got a fan wire kit. Comes with switch and relay. I was going to use T-stat for one fan and the other fan use the one in rad. So it comes on with ac and if it gets to hot. If this is not a good way to hook up the fans please let me know. Thank you all and happy weeling.😎

Yeah, that's fine.

You'll be limited to the temp of the switch that will fit the stat housing.

Start there.

3/8 NPT, I'm assuming?

The wire kit I got has 3/8 temp switch. It was like $25.
195-200 is the temp i got. Some say to pout a 210 in and others say 200 degrees. Guess if the fan is always on i will go to the 210. ????

The fan needs to cool the water before you get past 210...........you don't want it to come on after 210.

No, fan will not always run, will likely shut off when on the highway.
