U will want the low speed to be on 99% of the time. To keep it cool.
Yea with a thermo switch or some relays it can be set up automatically. I went my route for ease of installation and for having the control of it in the cab. I have had mine set up for about 4 rides. It works flawlessly.

I'm not understanding why the Volvo relay?? I am having overheating issues on my 2004 WJ . Would love to add a second fan or completely replace the oem with an upgrade if it's possible for more airflow. Any ideas???

3 Land Rover Defender electric fans mounted in front of the radiator where the condensor used to sit, and on the backside factory e-fan & mechanical fan with ZJ clutch. I spend the entire day mudbogging at high throttle in the blazing FL heat and it doesnt go above 190 if all 5 fans are running. If I just let it sit & idle it wont go over 170.

spent a lot of time dicking around with other setups, but this works great for me

I am running a 16" electric on a temperature switch and the stock aux. fan on an override switch. Works like a dream.

Dont get the dirtbound kit you can build the same set up for less the 175$ they use off brand ebay fans that will runn less than 80$ for all three and pick up the duel fan controller from summit for under 35$ I just bought dirtbounds fan shroud

How you like yours? Mine seems to do the job.net it has limited testing in 100 degree heat. Think I could benefit from some good vents now. I also used 3 fans,2 on the controller, and one manual for the Trans,ps cooler.

It's a derale controller. Think that's how it's spelled. I also used the manual override switch to control on demand,or if the sensor craps out.

I moved my electric fan to the middle of the radiator and wired it to go on when the engine is running. So far so good it hasn't been warm yet but it seems to stay steady
