I'm running 33's on my XJ with a 8.8 rear and my e-brake gets no where near as tight as it should. I didn't want to tighten the cable before getting advice from others who run my setup or run similar set ups that have had the same issue. I'm guessing it's because of the bigger tires, but is there a certain way I have to go about to get it tighter?
Thanks guys.

I would check/adjust your rear brake shoes.. they don't care what size your tires are
Just adjust 'em up until they drag a little when you spin 'em. That will take a lot of 'slack' out of your e-brake cable. If that doesn't do the trick, soak the cable adj. with liquid wrench for a day or two, then try to adjust that. Good Luck!
