2 batteries with 100 plus amp alternator is fine.

Done it both ways. 1 battery and 2 batteries. 2 is better. The alternator will keep up. As for ground pounding sound systems, I truly don't give 2 ****s.

You'd be better off running a single high output alternator and a pair of batteries, one of those being a deep cycle. A single high quality deep cycle battery can run a winch for a looooooong time.

My trolling motor on my boat pulls 55 amps, I can troll at full speed for 4 hours straight on before I dip below 1/2 charged

2 identical batteries and a high output alternator have worked great for me when using a winch. As stated above, sound systems don't matter to me.

The beauty of the deep cycle batteries would be the ability to also run a power inverter for long periods of time with the motor off.

Also, you can run a deep cycle till it's beyond dead, & it will recharge time after time. They are designed to work that way. A normal car battery will be destroyed if you do this a multiple times.

Just my 0.02.

Yeah, but my experience with big trucks and multiple batteries is to use identical batteries, replaced at the same time or you'll have constant issues with one battery failing. Besides, 2 batteries will hold a charge for alot longer than 1 anyway.

Just my 0.02.

Then use 2 deep cycles, but not one deep cycle and one regular.

Then again, I winched myself out numerous times with 2 group 31 batteries and a 95 amp alternator with no issues. I'm not gonna sit around all day playing a stereo with a big *** amp.

Why Would anyone need 500 amps?

I agree with everyone though, You have a $20 pulley on a $1 worth of metal (if bought in a full 4x8 sheet and full length angle) that is held together with $5 worth of consumables and painted with $0.25 worth of paint. I could make just as nice of a bracket in 20 minutes with a jigsaw and a 4.5" grinder.

I honestly applaud your effort but you need to come down in price a lot man. $50 would be a good price and still put you making roughly $60 an hour if you made 3 in an hour...

Sorry you guys feel the need to belittle people so bad. Yes I own a bridgeport, They can be had on craigslist for 1500ish all day long. I'll break down the pricing a little
12x12'' piece of diamond plate from speedy metals 21.77 plus shipping
1' angle 3/16 x 1.5x1.5 3.13 plus shipping
Idler pulley 17.99
Dayco belt 25.99
plus 2 bucks in bedliner
plus packaging/shipping... I'm at 70.88 before shipping, before factory in consumables like argon, filler metal etc.... Like I said before, if you don't like the price then move on.

Then you may want to find different suppliers. Knowing dayco offers a three year warranty for their belts... what kind of warranty would someone get for your kit?

What about a non bling version (I.e. no diamond plate)

In essence, you need to find local supplies or order in bulk... to save on your own shipping instead of passing it to the customer. That will drop your cost a lot. I also know that flat rate boxes are cheap shipping too.

Just things to keep in mind.

Inb4 this was belittling.
