Really a hack and tap is probably your best option. You can cut the shaft to length from the pinion yoke on the 8.25. That way you can run a front cv driveshaft.

No there's no issue I have to decide if I should have my shaft shortend try to find one in the jy if I even can find the correct length have one made do a hack and tap do a sye. That's where I'm at. I asked a question after watching a video that wasn't very clear on the steps of how to to a h&t and now I should pay some one money to do something ican do and I have to take a midol and change my tampon. Because I asked a question on something I was unclear on and big Dave now says I'm incompetent to do it

Don't you hate when that happens.
OP did you attempt to get a shorter driveshaft yet. You have an 231, an SYe isn't too bad. Under 300 and you can use find a stock driveshaft. At least you'll e done with it

I can see this thread going to high hell. It bottoms out at full droop but is it able to drive normally as a DD. if so then drive it to the JY and get another shaft

Well, is it just that a stock height XJ got an 8.25 and the driveshaft is an inch too long or what?
I need some chocolate and a glass of wine now.
