Default drive line and suspension help

i have a 2001 cherokee sport with a 3' lift and i am experiencing an abnormal 'squat' down when i come to a stop. the whole rear end seems to sit down more than it should and then when i accelerate from a stop there seems to be play kind of like the play i had when my front axle u-joints went bad any suggestions?

For starters, did you lift the rear with new leaf packs or an add a leaf kit? Sounds like the packs are "wrapping" some upon accelerating and decelerating.

The jeep was already lifted when I bought it, the leaves are lifted by a block but the leaves themselves look flat

There's the problem then. Worn out leaves with a lift block that adds leverage to the spring pack. This can end up breaking your u-joints or wearing out the pinion bearings.

Honest opinion would be to buy a set of 3" full leaf packs for it.

Only time I've had squat like you mention:

1) lift block in rear with old worn out leaf springs

2) bad master cylinder that is only feeding pressure to the rear axle

Do you own a GoPro or sports camera? Mount it on the body looking at the leaf springs and see what it's doing.

If it's as bad as he says, just have someone else power brake it on concrete or good asphalt, and you stand off to the side and watch...it'll be pretty obvious what's going on.
