I am looking at going from a d35 to c8.25 w/disc some time this summer. I have the 8.25 and a disc brake parts both from the jy.

After replacing one of my brake lines on the d35 over the weekend I am beginning to wonder just what I would need to do to match up the brake lines on the caliper? I will be working over and installing the disc parts on the 8.25 on jack stands in the garage to make things easier. Not sure what I am going to need to make the brake lines meet?

Meet where the soft lines from the caliper to the axle or the axle to the soft line from the body ?

If I were you I would get all new brake lines. You need 2 soft lines, 1 from each caliper to the axle. Then 2 hard lines to meet where the breather hose and T block is. Then 1 soft line from the unibody to the T block on the axle.

Oh, and depending on what the axle looks like now, you might need brackets to hold all of the lines in place, especially the soft lines from the calipers.

That is kind of what I am trying to figure out. I have new lines for the axle and plan on replacing the t block and vent hose. I have seen people do this....




Which looks great, do I have to have someone weld those brackets on or are they even necessary?

They sould be welded that way you don't bend the line of the caliper is hung by the hose and so the hard line can't move around
