Difference b/t Hack 'n Tap SYE and normal
So after destroying my transfer case, and replacing it, i found out i have a RE Hack 'n Tap SYE kit. I don't have any problem with it, as i just modified the new-to-me trans case to accept it (literally hacked the shaft, then tapped it) and my tom woods drive shaft....BUT are the SYE kits that come with the complete shaft and everything better? or is it just "the right way" to do a Slipyoke elimination?

A complete SYE kit is no better than HnT kit. Some guys say they're weaker than a true SYE, but I've seen HnT's take some serious abuse and stay strong. You've already got it, so keep it and enjoy being vibration free!

People who have a true sye will often tell you they're better, people with hnt will tell you the hnt is fine. Basically, the hnt will be fine for you so just keep it

a 'true' SYE? hack n tap just means you mod the stock output shaft... it is still a 'true' SYE, there is just more work top be done
but more often then not people will mod the output shaft(hack it and tap it) while it is on the truck... this can save a lot of time

I have installed at least 25-30 HnT SYE's on various Jeep vehicles over the years and never had a complaint or failure. Half of those frequent Rubicon every year as well! You'll be just fine.

i'm glad there are all these supporters of it, and i'm not the only one running this...from the looks of it, it seems like everyone is happy with their HnT's, and so am i
