Will an 85XJ skid plade fit a 2000XJ???

I have a chance to buy front and rear (gas tank) skid plates off an 85. Will they fit the 2000XJ?

The front will, yes. The gas tank won't without some modification. Gas tank design changed in 97+.

x2. The gas tank skid need to be trimmed to fit the 97+ tank. All you have to do is cut off the rear of it, right where it starts to curve up. Eliminate that, and it'll bolt right in. You end up with the back 3" of your gas tank exposed. Nothing major.
