this engine isnt a idi , its a mulit point comon rail system that electronicaly injected. the engine burns pretty clean and even tho is a half liter bigger i bet the LTE actualy is pretty close its also meant to be in a truck. also its a toyota product

Got a price range for the engine? I know diesels don't always do good in the cold so is this thing a bear in the cold? Would this be relatively cheap to do?

Just be happy with 15 mpg and save your money... it could be worse, you could be getting 9-10 mpg like me
