Hello fellow Cherokee fans,

I have an 86 xj with a 350 sbc and I have experienced death wobble a couple times and both times my engine temp almost immediately spiked 30 degrees, and stayed there.

Thinking I should just let fluids settle, I tried letting the engine sit (off) for 5 minutes and then restarting which didn't fix the issue either time. I don't think it's a short in the temp guage because there's definate heat waves coming out of the hood louvers.

I do plan on fixing the death wobble (I'm starting the parts swap today) But I would also like to make sure I'm not missing something else that would be causing the engine to have this reaction. Any suggestions, or even ideas on what would cause this?
