Been searching around for awhile looking for anyone that's added in a DD HU to an XJ. I found a few very brief write ups, decided to break out the saws all and get to work.


Anyway, here's the latest picutres .. everything fit, but I now have a hacked up HVAC ducts behind the radio that I need to repair (any advice would be greatly appreciated)... the bezel in the picture is for mock up purposes only, I sent a bezel to Dennis at DDmods.com, he's making one that will fit perfectly and look stock.

I moved A/C controls to under glove box.

 

Metal/foil duct tape to fix the ducts? Hard to give advice on a repair on something you cant see.

As for the install, looks nice.

how'd you get the lines to reach? would love to see it (although now that I've hacked everything no chance I'm going back :-) )

 

hmm. odd. I had some DDs in my xj recently and they didn't look anything like the pic you posted.

 

Yeah, I was expecting something else also.

To be honest most of us on here are off roader types.If we have a radio its a cheapo din cd player lol.

Not what I expected either. When I bought mine if had a fancy Aftermarket unit in it so I pulled it out and replaced with a factory AM/FM/Cass/CD player for ease of use off road and on.

 

so am I, not sure how one excludes the other.

 

Man I got my hopes up for some ladies in a Cherokee.
