Dana 44 + 60, Prices
I was researching purchasing an all in one prebuilt axle. Some sites had the D44 for around $4000 and others as much as $7000 for a Dana 60 (Quadratec).
I found this place selling the D60 rear for $3500 complete:
http://www.allensoffroad.com/mm5/mer...ry_Code=DYNATS
I found this place selling the D44 front for $3851 complete:
http://eastcoastgearsupply.com/i-676...t-xjtj-zj.html
The application is for a Supercharged 4.2 Ministroke (3.5" cranks from the old 232 AMC vehicles of the 70's). By rough guestimation the horsepower is going to be about 330-350 at the crank.
I would like to know if there are other places where I can purchase the same axles for a lesser price.
I don't have the time or capability to compile the axles myself. I need to be able to install them as they arrived when I go home next time since I'm in Afghanistan and will only have two weeks (which will be used to rebuild the stroker and supercharge it).

I'm not in the Marines anymore. Although I will be transporting my XJ up to Lejeune to rebuild it if I can swing taking a full month off this summer.
I live in Haines City / Salt Springs / Lakeland Florida. I have multiple places I call home.

A dana 60 by itself is all I need since I'm only running 35" tires. I was going to put a 44 in there but they're all more expensive than the Trailseries D60 for some reason. So I decided I would go with the cheaper tougher axle.
Like I said I don't have the time to build this on my own. I don't need a super-ultra-mega 60, it was just the cheaper option over a Dana 44 for some odd reason.

I thought you meant where was I stationed in the U.S.
I'm still in Afghanistan. I'm in the South West region with the Marines. I think Army is occupying the Northern portion.

if i was to throw cash around, i'd start calling fab shops and having them price stuff out for me. there are plenty of places that will build you nice axles for a good price.

I hadn't even considered that. I'll get my dad to get me some numbers from the area. He's not good with knowing mechanical details although he's good at fixing mechanical problems.

call and say you want dana 60s front and rear, bolt in to a XJ. i know a lot of shops that get junkyard axles DIRT cheap, then they'll rebuild them to your specs... this way you arent tossing away money of a fab housing or some NOS piece.

^^ What LI says..
Theres a dude here on this forum who apparently works in a Jeep fab shop, he's posting pics of that Scrambler build and they seem capable enough. Think he goes by N20Jeep or something. Might be worth a start there with a PM.
And he's in Florida iirc.

60s are a bit overkill for 35s and you'll be catching the housing on everything, ask me how I know this. Local 4X shop or fab shop will be much cheaper than catalogs and if you have any issues you can talk to a person or go see them in person.
