I made my own posi lock cable from napa for like $30 and love it , if u do the block off plate and 1 piece axel u have to get ur front drive shaft balanced if u replace the vac diaphragms ur vulnerable to malfunction in water doing posi cable ur weak point I would say is probably the collar that locks the two piece axel together

carry lots of spare shafts and get good at swapping them out. cause a locked disco axle will snap u-joints every 100 feet on a tough enough trail due to the smaller 260 u-joint.
pull the small seal out and put in new seals at the pumpkin and throw in some RCV shafts, or at least shafts with the larger 297 joints.
been there, done that...

I see people asking about balanced driveshafts if they slide the collar over, correct me if I'm wrong but with no hubs the shaft is always spinning regardless of the collar being locked in.

Technically no, because the spider gears in the diff move instead of the driveshaft.
As for a balanced driveshaft on vehicles equipped with CAD, they are. No worries as long as U-joints and cardon joints are in good shape and well lubed.
I've done the CAD elimination as per the above link on 2 or 3 Jeeps with no issues.

dana30 w/disco & spartan
I noticed with 4.11 gears to install the Spartan locker, you have to remove ring gear to remove the center pin. The E clip cannot be replaced. The "middle" shaft floats side to side due to not being able to replace the clip. Has anyone tried to shim the pass. side shaft towards the carrier? Will this cause binding? There seems to be excessive space between middle and outer shafts. To me a weak spot to fail.
