Default dana 30. home made truss? or home made sleeve?

So i wanna start this off by saying I DONT HAVE THE MONEY FOR A DANA 44
if i did, well i wouldnt be posting this.. just wanna get that out there

i had 2 ideas for strengthening my dana 30
one idea was using 3/8 stock for a truss from uca mount to top of diff.

the other was to sleeve it using 1/4 in thick tubing.

can i get some opinions?

keep in mind im trying to keep this truss well under 100$

Truss should be fine just remember to heat the cast housing before welding or use nickle rods or else it won't hold. Might want to also add some gussets from the Cs to the tube/spring bucket area. I've seen them bend there after being trussed because the stress has to go somewhere.

What Marc said as well as weld tubes to the housing. while you are at it.. add some skids to your LCA's truss both sides of your knuckle uppers and lowers. as for sleeving... not really needed, and kinda a waste of effort.

Throwing this out there.

Can probably get it to your door for a 100 bucks. I know ballistic has had some problems but order with a credit card and hope for the best.

I would give it a shot, I think its a nice piece for the money.
