yeah. cutting that out, then making a plate with a threaded insert/welded on nut would just be easier. and while you're at it, cut the rest out too. all I would do is take measurements of where I wanted the top of the shackle to end up, then transfer that on to the new box. its on my to do list. along with some home brew shackles. currently working on diy stiffeners, so hopefully sooner than later.
