Look at dukie564's build, Project Danger Cart. He does the stock air box cowl intake. It's cheap, easy, and doesn't use engine bay air like most "CAI's". I can't remember if he does a detailed write-up in his build, but he gives you a pretty good idea of how to do it. I did it too so you can PM me if you have any questions.

So a cowl intake is more efficient then a CAI is what im getting? But don't you have to drill a hole through the fire wall... I feel like that is unsafe?? idk could be wrong though. But I thought the COWL intake was kinda like a cheater snorkel type deal? Would the Cowl make my jeep louder?

A cowl intake is an actual Cold Air Intake. The K&N filters and crap pulling air from the engine bay are sucking up hot air that's passed through the radiator and been heated even more by the exhaust manifold
The cowl is not the firewall. The firewall runs up between the engine bay and cab, the cowl sits forward of it. The back wall of the cowl area is actually the firewall.
The only additional noise you'll experience is inside the cab as the cowl area is where the HVAC system draws fresh air from as well.
