Cold air intake
I have a 01 xj 4.0 stock with 31s I'm thinking about getting a cold air intake set up is it a good idea I know you get better throttle response but no actual HP gain and how does that affect MPG

I do have abs but only in the front and drums in the back I'm pretty sure there all like that all xjs 86 through 01.
But a buddy told me that I'm going to burn more gas in the winter because the engine is to cold so it tries to warm itself by adding more Gas to the mix idk for sure tho he's not a jeep guy but he does wrench on a lot of cars

I got the kit for $600 shipped from a buddy of mine at dbtruckcustoms.com.
It comes with a 62mm throttle body, flashpag, and Cai. I felt a major difference after adding it, but to make it better its best to change the muffler also.

the spectre cowl intake is by far the best ive seen. really the only one out there that provides cool air. the rest out there are really just "cone on a stick" designs that suck hot engine air.
