o wait u have a dana 35 with Detroit lockers? hmmm well it could have broke a clutch spring or a tooth could have shattered but to do that u really gotta be putting some tork down or hoppin the wheel. but it could also be a pinion bearing due to DL vibes which is also a big possibilty.
im a technician so im not just throwing bullcrap at you. try removing diff cover and see if u have metal shavings in your fluid thats should be the easiest way of telling a major problem

update: when the rear axle was rebuilt they used the wrong bolts. Instead of 7/16 they were 3/8 and not lock tite'd. The bolts im talking about are between the ring gear and carrier bearings. 3 of them completely sheared.
