Default Chrysler 8.25 shave.

Any of y’all done it? Can’t seem to find any videos or info on this specific axle, but there is a whole lot of unnecessary dangly bits down there. Just went on my first wheeling trip since swapping from Dana 35. Holy moly that thing is so much lower. Never hit the Dana 35. Got hung a few times in the lip of the 8.25.

Cant get much but you need and aftermarket diff cover and can grind away that lip. You can go flush with the cover or keep going, just dont hit the bolt hole. I couple videos on youtube, look up "Jeep Xj axle shave"

If you hit enough rocks, it'll shave itself! I'm considering doing this myself. That flat dangly bit can be trimmed a bit, particularly on the sides.

Are you sure the ruts weren't just a little bit deeper this time around? 😆

Just kidding, your rig looks great BTW.

How tall are your tires ? because that does make a difference on how high the rear end is .

You can shave off about 1/2" with a decent cover. That's essentially one tire size bigger.
