Chrysler 8.25 Question
Yeah, I know to search but it's easier to ask and I'm lazy...
What is required to convert a 27 spline 8.25 to 29 spline? I will be adding a locker and 4.11 gears soon. Only lockers I can find are for 29 spline axles and I have a 92, so it should be 29. Main question is will I need a new carrier for any of this or just the new 29 spline shafts?

You sure. I did 4.88 gears in my 8.25 ,on stock carrier.. Mines out of a ,92. I think 27 spline. I welded spider gears together and to thf case.
whatever spline they are they've held up for a few years weldedon 33s

Either way I found a deal on Spartans for the front and rear. Couldn't resist, so maybe by the time I do regear this summer, I'll have gotten more feedback. Thanks to the fellas that responded!

Little googling shows that the D30 would need a new carrier but the 8.25 is good up to 4.88.
