Here are so me of the stats 02 vette ls1, 700r4 2400 stall, Novak mounts , Camaro SS manifolds, custom f&r driveshafts, custom crossmember , built 231 6 gear planetary wide chain SYE, FAST EFI, Griffin radiator

To much engine, not enough frame unless it has a tube frame and a full cage to tie it all together JMHO, but a nice job to undertake.

If I might ask why the F.A.S.T setup it didn't need any more HP than the stock motor had to begin with, surely not that much money just for tuning abilities it offers.

Because too much horsepower is never enough.

I have installed frame stiffeners front to rear and have been driving this thing like it were stolen and have not seen any signs of ill effect to the unibody. Not sure why a full tube frame would be needed seems like that would be overkill. As for the fast system i went with the ez-efi because once you figure your wiring harness your ecu and tuning your real close to the $1400.00 (if not more) the fast kit cost plus it makes for a much cleaner install, it uses a more precise wide band o2, no laptop required, comes with a nice touch screen interface module, and has worked flawlessly since the start. And too much horsepower thats a good one, i guess the new cam and ported heads i got laying here are totally out of the question. I will try to take some more pics today and get them posted as soon as i can

It's interesting that the unibody gets such a bad rap. The cars these engines are installed in originally are unibody and, although a little too flexible for some people's tastes, they are fine. The Cherokee's unibody is even better suited for a V8, having full length rails. OP: Nice job on the swap. Do you have any better pics of the exhaust manifold to body clearance and exhaust? I'm curious how the Vette manifolds sit in there.

Yep, the Cherokee uni-frame is a lot stronger than the Camaro's weak subframe.

Wow. Absolutely beautiful. Glad to see how well it fits under there. I was looking at a 5.3 swap but they are too tall so I'm headed down the same route. Are you running a fuel cell or factory tank? Would you mind posting some pics of the transmission fitment and crossmember? How much did you pick up the LS1 for?

Nice work man! Looks great!

Side-note... How have you not broken any axles yet haha? I just bent the pinion in my D44 and I have significantly less power with my stroker than you have going to your D35.
Granted it bent due to the bearing failing and then eating a shim but still... I would think you would tear the 35 up.

I'm trying to avoid the cowl hood. Plus I'd like the benefit of a nice light aluminum block

im running Camaro SS manifolds tried vette gto and truck manifolds none would even come close to working. Im using the stock fuel tank i had to modify the factory fuel pump assembly to work with the LS. used a walbro 255lph pump took out the factory filter/pressure regulator plumbed in a return line and used a vette fuel filter/regulator. I opted to use a 700r4 tranny so i wouldnt have to buy an expensive electronic controller. i used the novak engine mounts but found an adapter kit from j&b conversions on ebay to adapt the 700 to the 231. since the overall length of the new powertrain was shorter the crossmember had to be moved forward about 6 inches so i decided to build a new tummy tucked crossmember and had to shorten the front driveshaft and lengthen the rear. and as for the D35 its some how hanging in there i did do a complete rebuild a little over a year ago and i traded the blown original engine and tranny for an 8.8 that ive been working on along with a gear swap from 3.55 to 4.10. im not sure about the truck accesory drive might not work
