Well I think id be fine with keeping them maintained. I just don't even know where to begin with diy beads

I really think those reentered H1 wheels are the way to go. For under a grand you can have some duel bead lock wheels and a pretty damn decent set of 37" tires.

Just google DIY beadlocks. There are a bunch of companies that make generalized styles and some that will custom design some for you.

Just remember a few things with them. You need to weld them on if you have the right welding skills or know someone who does. Hardware regardless is going to cost some change. Many beadlocks run 32 bolts a rim. You want to check a tighten them regularly. Also balancing beadlocks, have you ever ran BB's before?

I do like PingPong's suggestion of the Staun's. But they are pricey as well.

Yeah I checked out all the above links and they are nice rims but still pricey. I already have steeleys. I think I'm gonna try my own diy's. And I can weld them up too.

But I've seen the BBs but never ran em myself.

It worries me when people take the cheapest route possible when it comes to wheels, brakes, and suspension. Cheap is not always bad, but it is most of the time and that is puting yours and my safety at stake. If you can't afford to do it the right way just wait a little longer and save up some money, the World will keep spinning if you don't have bead locks or 6 inches of lift right away.

The issue with H1's are they weigh a ton.

The issue with doing the DIY route.. You are looking at roughly 200 from most vendors give or take. Then you will have at least 4-8hrs in making them up... and thats if you dont have any leaks.

I thik stuans or InnerAirs's are under 200 a piece, and you can find them used for around 500. SO if you have a set of rims you like.. you can buy a set of inner beadlocks.. which btw are true double beadlocks.

Lastly you can buyy proffesionally made ones for around 250 a rim. Yes that is bottom end.. but lets face it.. you are going to beat the crap out of them.

One more thought to ponder... I bought my 15" locks used for 500 and have no issues and that included all the hardware and anti coning rings.

Check out Interair lockers! They lock both beads and are DOT approved.
They use an inter-tube to lock the rims like Stuans, but cost much less.
A set for 15x8 rim is about 500-550 dollars and they will hold both beads down to 5 lbs or less.

For sure! He has been making as set of 4 inners and outers for 150 bucks. I have been running them on my daily for a few years, they run down the freeway just fine. We have made 6 or 7 sets of DIY beads with no issues.

And I just want DIY locks because my jeep will not see the street but rarely, and they'll work good for my setup.
